2026-2027 Season Registration Cost Breakdown

Players who are rostered with a Cobras team should anticipate the following costs:
** registration fees subject to change and are dependant on ice time contracts currently being negotiated

- *** U9 will be playing games in full-ice format starting January 15, 2027.
- Registration fees include all hockey-related expenses for the season as identified later in this document.
- Payment plan available via 4 installments (credit card, cash, cheque or e-transfer). Deadline is Dec 15th, 2026.
- Teams will not have to purchase TeamSnap (or any scheduling platform) as the Cobras’ Association uses TeamLinkt. TeamLinkt is an online platform that will allow the Association to link the schedule to the team roster. By using the app (free download in App Store or Google Play – TeamLinkt – Sports Team App), parents and players will be able to see the schedule, use messaging function, indicate “availability”. Individual teams are no longer required to purchase TeamSnap (or other scheduling platform) for the upcoming season.
- All practices are full-ice.
- All tournament fees listed below are included in the player's registration cost. (tournament schedule for all levels is available upon request.
- All players will receive a Cobras Dry Fit T-shirt and Shorts (sizing done at Registration Day).
- Last season we have invested over $75K in these sessions led by specialized elite instructors and the cost of these sessions is included in the players’ registration cost.
- Players who are succesful in making the Cobras will need to purchase mandatory gear including: 2 game jerseys, track suit, custom shell and custom CCM gloves.
Fee Expenditure Breakdown
Did you know that 76% of your registration costs are to cover ice rental, tournaments costs and additional development sessions?
As part of our commitment to transparency, below is a breakdown of how team fees are allocated for the 2026–27 season:
- Ice Rental & Referee Fees – 46%
- Team Development – 16%
- Tournament Fees – 14%
These percentages reflect our effort to invest directly into the players’ development while covering essential operational needs.
The last 24% covers all other association fees such as, but not limited to:
- Coaches’ payments and certifications
- Administrative costs (e.g., software licensing, bank fees, etc.)
- Training certifications for coaching staff
- Referees’ fees for the season and playoffs
- HEO AA/A League Dues
- Hockey Canada / HEO insurance fees
- Players Dry Fit t-shirt and shorts
- Executive Committee members’ fees and travel expenses (as per the Constitution)
- And many others...
Tournaments
For the upcoming season, registration fees will include the cost of four tournaments for teams from U10 to U18, and two tournaments for U9 teams.
Specific tournament details for each level will be confirmed and communicated at a later date.
2026–2027 Development
Below you will find an example of the development included in the 2025-2026 season, we are currently working hard to finalize these details for the upcoming season. Our goal is to enhance player development and overall value for families.
- On-Ice Development
- We’ve significantly strengthened our skill-development program by partnering with elite instructors, including:
- Francis Wathier – Former NHL player and founder of Wathier Academy, specializing in game-like flow, positioning, and competitive edge work.
- André Savage – Former NHL player and founder of Savage 24 Hockey, known for scanning, game-time decision-making, and elite skill execution.
- Genesis Hockey – D1-level instructor delivering advanced skill progression and player development methods.
- Brian Gillam – High Performance 2 (HP2) certified coach providing advanced drills, systems play, and development strategies.
- Pat Chevrier – Head instructor at Hockey Physics, delivering all-season sessions with a focus on mechanics, efficiency, and hockey-specific athletic performance for goaltenders.
- These instructors bring professional experience and proven training systems, giving our players exposure to some of the best hockey minds in the game
- Additional Development – Bloom Hockey Training Center
- Each team will receive three additional Bloom skill-development sessions during the season.
- These sessions focus on advanced shooting, passing, and puck skills in a high-tempo, state-of-the-art environment. They also include goalie-specific training, ensuring specialized attention in areas such as positioning, rebound control, and save selection.
- Expanded Off-Ice Training – Wally Strength and Conditioning and Gladiator Strength and Conditioning
- Each team will now benefit from dedicated off-ice training sessions designed to improve agility, strength, endurance, and hockey-specific fitness.
- This is a crucial step in building well-rounded athletes and improving on-ice performance.
Our Focus for 2026–2027
This year’s primary focus is more training, higher-quality instruction, and expanded player development opportunities. These program enhancements will better prepare players to compete at a high level while instilling skills that last well beyond this season.
